Status update Dear Crankksters, we want to address you directly: Crankk is still here. While we have been quieter than usual, our team is committed to moving forward and ensure our project’s future. As you know, our funds were severely depleted following the unforeseen Kadena bankruptcy. To rebuild and relaunch Crankk on a new blockchain, we are actively seeking the necessary funding through individual blockchain grant applications. We have submitted grant applications to Binance, Solana, Polygon, and several other blockchain projects as we keep applying for additional grant opportunities. We have initiated direct conversations with the Solana team regarding a transition. We have always listened to our community, and we are asking for your voice once again. Migration update: User Dashboard pause and next steps Dear Crankksters, Following our recent announcement regarding the full network pause to rebuild Crankk and move away from the unstable Kadena environment, we want to give you an important update on the immediate next steps. Online User Dashboard pause We have successfully paused all network operations. This critical step has effectively disconnected Crankk from the Kadena environment, immediately lowering our operational costs and exposure. End of this week, we will finally stop the online User Dashboard access. ⚠️ Please be advised that the Crankk online User Dashboard will be fully unavailable after Sunday, November 30th, 2025. To ensure you maintain continuous access to your CRKK wallets and funds, you must retrieve your wallet's secret keys before Sunday's deadline. After the dashboard is paused, the secret key is the only way to access your wallet via third party Kadena wallet applications. Looking ahead This pause marks the beginning of our ambitious rebuild toward a multi-chain future, as outlined previously. We appreciate your patience and trust during this foundational phase. • Wallet Access: We recognise the importance of convenient access. We will be implementing a basic dashboard in the coming weeks specifically designed to help you maintain easy access to your wallets and tokens. • Crankk OS: The Crankk OS remains operational and free for all users, including continued access to the free Multimining functionality. • Migration: We are actively working on reshaping the Crankk network before we finalise our migration to a different, more stable blockchain platform. A Pause for Migration: Rebuilding Crankk The Crankk network was built to be deeply integrated into the Kadena blockchain and operates fully on-chain. Whilst this commitment ensured total decentralisation, it now results in high infrastructure costs and unreliable network performance. Following the recent failure of the Kadena infrastructure and the resulting token devaluation, our dedicated Kadena funding immediately ceased, and the value of our KDA treasury evaporated. This instability, combined with our high operational costs requires immediate action. A Full Pause To protect our users, we swiftly transitioned all on-chain operations to the Kadena community fork. This transition needed a temporary pause of network activity and will be completed within 24h from now. However, the new community fork runs in parallel with the original chain, creating a security risk and an unstable situation which is likely to persist. We are no longer confident in the short-term solidity and security of the Kadena environment. So we are taking this time and pause to go one step further: we are initiating a full network pause to entirely rebuild Crankk and move away from the Kadena integration. This will immediately lower operational costs and decrease our exposure to the unstable Kadena environment while we rebuild. What This Means for Users • Beaconing and Witnessing cycles are already paused. • Staked CRKK tokens will automatically be returned to your wallets during the course of this week. • Subscriptions and Licence purchases will not be renewed or processed. • The Crankk User Dashboard will be paused in exactly two weeks to still allow time for users to fetch their secret keys or access their Crankk card. • After the dashboard pause, all users can still safely access their Crankk wallets and funds via any standard Kadena wallet app. Looking Ahead: Multi-Chain Future Learning from this experience, the future Crankk will be less reliant on a single blockchain. We aim to be functional on multiple blockchains simultaneously in the future, without depending on one. Due to the fundamental, on-chain nature of our Kadena integration, everything must be rebuilt to achieve this independancy. During the rebuild, we will take a snapshot of current wallet balances. These balances will later be minted on a new blockchain as we move forward. Crankk OS and Multimining made Free The Crankk OS will continue to be operational and free. Multimining functionality will remain active and will be made free for all OS users during this rebuilding period. We understand this is significant news, but this step is essential to secure the future and viability of the Crankk network. We thank you for your understanding and continued support as we rebuild. Crankk Network Update: Kadena Fork Transition Dear Crankksters, We're providing a status update following the successful Kadena blockchain fork this morning, November 8, 2025, at 4:00 AM UTC. The forked chain has quickly emerged as the clear leader, securing about 90% of the network's hashing power so we decided to move operations to this new chain immediately. Transitioning to the forked Kadena chain Crankk is currently synchronising with the new, dominant Kadena chain. We are handling all technical updates behind the scenes for a smooth switch. The full transition to the new chain is expected to be completed within the next few days. ⚠️ We have temporarily suspended beaconing and witnessing to prevent transacting on the old chain during this necessary infrastructure shift. ⚠️ Please refrain from using the online Crankk User Dashboard (for staking, moving tokens, etc.) during the transitioning period. The dashboard is temporarily connected to the original chain, and transactions may not be valid on the new network. ✅ You do not need to do anything with your Crankk gateways or sensors.
