There are two things to answer why Mega funding stayed positive and we have been paid to short even with price declining. First is typically market makers have a lot of inventory in the beginning so when funding gets crazy they step in to arb it. Second is funding is primarily a momentum measure. That is, how much more are people selling on perp versus on spot (and vice versa). If people are selling both perp and spot relatively equally or if perp selling is relatively evenly spread out the you’ll see more reasonable funding. Then it normalizes pretty quickly.

This is like a token that delayed cliffs. Sold OTC to pump the chart. Spread the word privately to liquid traders/funds. Then someone’s market limit hit.
