Lord of the Flies 2026 Netflix 🍿 I’ll try to avoid spoilers here. I went into watching this having already watched the movie that was made decades ago and enjoyed that. I read the book a very long time ago and was smoking a lot of weed at that time so those details are fuzzy. Both were great..I do remember that so that is limited series of 4 episodes had a lot to live up to,and can you believe it..it actually did. Now first things first, I had some complaints especially when I started the first episode. The way they end up on this island is really traumatic for anyone let alone a group of kids age 12 or 13 and below. But they just seemed kind of like “Well we’re here” and didn’t seem to know each other which had me saying wtf is going on. It’s also 2026 so there was a few bits of diversity scattered in that weren’t in the 1990 movie like a few kids that aren’t white that play small roles and Ralph who’s probably the main role is a kid of mixed races it seems and his parents display that in a flashback was a very white kid. After I complained about that I finished the first episode not quite happy but was willing to see it through. As I settled in I was able to overlook a few things and appreciate that the young actor Winston Sawyers who played Ralph was very talented and my only complaint would be the writers didn’t make him a little more tough as I remember it. Overall we’re talking about almost entirely child actors of varying experience and they did a pretty good job for the most part. There are some stylized scenes with a lot of colors and filters that give you an almost clockwork orange feel to it. The longer it goes the better it gets although I think the episode titled Simon was unnecessary and could have had that time used better. Should you watch it? I’ll say yes, it gets better as it goes on and the character Jack is pretty interesting and acted well enough. Your sensei’s review is done ✅

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark wins 🥇 I saw this one coming even though I was a FMJ lean on this battle. The old school Indy Jones movies are awesome but Gunnery Sergeant Hartman is going to be ripping the dojo a new ass for how this went down. Private Joker is looking down at the results the same way as your sensei in this. #JohnnyLawrenceMovieMadness
